Are you fast and need to prove it?! Capture the speed on video with our GPS Expansion for Hero4.
The EB33 GPS Expander Board enhances the capabilities of our Alti-Force Sensor Pack and gives you high-speed GPS with your GoPro videos recorded on Hero4 cameras. The GPS data allows you to display Speed and Distance on your videos, much like our Free Alti-Force GPS mobile app, but much faster, with more options, and without the need to use WiFi. We’ve also added Glide and Vertical Speed for the airborne athletes.
Also included is a vibrator motor for Haptic Feedback mimicking Alti-Force status LED flashes … now know your Alti-Force status with sight AND feeling!
GPS is captured with the SkyTraQ Venus838 chipset and an amplified external antenna. The external antenna allows you to put the camera anywhere and keep the antenna’s open sky view for reception of quality GPS signal, and Fast! With position updates coming in every ~0.04 seconds, you are sure to capture even the quickest run in detail. Use the data to display on-screen subtitles, overlay it as visual gauges with DashWare, or open in Maps to view the path traveled.
We offer the EB33 GPS Expansion Board in two ways:
Current owners of the Alti-Force SP30 can order a retro-fit kit of parts, partially or mostly assembled.
If you are new to Alti-Force and also need the SP30 Sensor Pack, we offer a fully assembled SP30 + EB33 package.

Alti-Force installer is now compatible with Hero4 software v4.00
After a couple weeks of trials on our end (and nothing but good results), we have unleashed a new installer for you. The AFSPinstaller v2.21 is available for download on our Support Page.
The major change in version 2.21 is for compatibility with the Hero4 update, but we also embedded a minor provision for SP30 Expander circuits (such as the Haptic Feedback board). As always, send us a message if you encounter any trouble.
Should I update my Hero3+ or Hero3 camera?
No need (assuming you are on v2.11). The software in those cameras has not changed, so there is no need to download Alti-Force installer v2.21. We’ll make another post if that changes.
By popular demand, Alti-Force now supports QuikCapture mode on the Hero4 camera!
QuikCapture is the Hero4 video mode previously called One-Button on other camera models. QuikCapture lets you keep the camera powered off, and with a touch of the record button, the camera powers on and starts recording. Another press of the record button stops recording and powers the camera off.
Update your Hero4 camera with the latest v2.11 installer to take advantage of QuikCapture. This software version also syncs data when a video recording is started before Alti-Force indicates ready on a normal power-up.
Changes for Installer v2.11:
- Added Hero4 support for QuikCapture mode
- Improved Hero4 memory card access protocol
- Minor change in CSV data file format for use with DashWare functions
- Fix bug in feet to meters altitude conversion
